Full service marketing agency, Bigwave media, will be carrying their trophy with pride at the kick-off of the Bigwave media Business Games on Friday 5 May, after winning the Business Contribution to Sport category at the Exeter Express & Echo Awards.
The prestigious event, which took place at St James Park on 26 April, distributed awards across 12 categories relating to sport in the local community.
Bigwave media was nominated for its annual running of the Business Games, an initiative which sees 25 Exeter-based businesses compete in eight events to earn themselves a spot at the top of the leader board.
A successful run
Now going into its eighth year, the Business Games has given local companies a great excuse to network, team build and let their hair down!
Money raised by the Business Games is poured into the Exeter Foundation, a trust set up by Exeter’s most prolific names in sport and business to help raise money for local charities. Over the past seven years, the games have successfully raised £30,000.
Debbi Moore, Head of Client Experience at Bigwave as well as lead organiser of the games, was thrilled the agency had been acknowledged for the award. She said:
“We’re honoured to be recognised for our hard work and commitment. A lot of time and energy goes into the organisation of the Business Games, and it’s always fantastic to see it coming together.
“People of all ages and abilities can get involved and it’s a great opportunity to try new things. The games have become an integral part of Exeter’s business community.”
It’s been a busy time for Bigwave, who ended the week in runner-up position for the Business Growth category at the South Devon Business awards in Torquay. Over the past year, Bigwave has worked more closely with businesses in the bay area, opening a Torquay office last September to offer support as a marketing agency in Torquay.
