The Real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate based on the cost of living and is voluntarily paid by employers who choose to go beyond the statutory minimum wage. Accreditation confirms that Bigwave Marketing pays all eligible employees at least the Real Living Wage, with rates independently calculated each year by the Living Wage Foundation.

Bigwave Marketing is one of the Southwest’s largest full-service creative marketing agencies, with a team of 58 employed along a spine running from Cullompton down through Exeter, Torbay to Plymouth and headquartered in Exeter. The agency has clients across the UK and beyond, providing them with a mix of advertising, design, content, paid media, SEO/GEO, video and web services.

The accreditation reflects Bigwave’s wider commitment to doing business responsibly. As a certified B Corp, the agency is measured against high standards of social and environmental performance. Becoming a Real Living Wage employer complements that commitment by ensuring employment practices align with its values.

Simon Beer, Director of Bigwave Marketing, said:

“Many of our clients are purpose-led organisations and businesses that have a positive impact on their customers and communities. We are proud to support that work, and we want our own business practices to reflect the same values.

“As a certified B Corp, we are always looking at how we can make better decisions for our colleagues, clients and the communities we work with. This accreditation sits naturally alongside that and reinforces the standards we want to hold ourselves to as a business.”

The Real Living Wage accreditation forms part of a broader package of support and benefits for Bigwave employees. This includes a health plan, career ladders, salary and pension sacrifice schemes including electric car options, and a busy programme of staff socials and team events.

Tom Gozna, Director at Bigwave Marketing, said:

“We want Bigwave to be a place where people feel valued and able to build rewarding careers. Pay is a really important part of that, but it is also about the wider culture we create.

“Becoming Real Living Wage accredited is an important step for us because it gives a clear, independently recognised commitment to fair pay and responsible employment.”

Bigwave Marketing’s accreditation comes as more employers across the Southwest look at how they can support people through fair pay, stronger workplace cultures and responsible growth. For Bigwave, it is another step in building a business that can grow while continuing to create opportunities for people in the region.
