Overview
Seriously Social is a national campaign and initiative organised by Community Leisure UK to celebrate charitable trusts, non-profits, and social enterprises that deliver public leisure, culture, and community services. It puts ‘People before Profit’ at the forefront of its mission, with further focus on key parts of the economy such as the environment, community, employment & skills, health & wellbeing, and inclusion.
Bigwave delivered a bold and colourful campaign concept, applied to a wide range of digital channels such as their website, social media, info graphics, and more.

Logo Design
The logo was designed to balance professionalism and credibility with warmth and accessibility, reflecting an organisation that tackles serious economic and social issues while engaging a broad, socially conscious audience. Combining bold, block typography with a more expressive brush style helped strike this balance.
The monochrome, stamp-like treatment represents the organisation’s role as an independent third party giving its ‘stamp of approval’, while ensuring the identity complements rather than competes with the charitable trusts and social enterprises it supports.

Campaign Identity
In its infancy, the colours of the Seriously Social campaign touched on politics, quickly outgrowing the limited palette and expanding to a bold array of colours that promote the variety, intensity and positivity of the leisure and culture sector.
Single-line illustrations are incorporated into designs that portray themes which run throughout the Seriously Social campaign. These one-line drawings –offset with thematic pops of colour– represent the continuous and long-term support that charitable trusts, non-profits, and social enterprises bring to the economy.

Rollout and Assets
We designed a range of assets, from the Seriously Social website to video to social memes, infographics and more. These were delivered in English and Welsh languages, being inclusive to as many bilingual leisure services around the UK as possible.
These graphics were available to charitable trusts and social enterprises across the UK, to help champion CLUK’s initiative and also shout about how much they make a difference to their local communities and members.

‘I just wanted to say how thrilled we all are with this year’s campaign. Please pass on my thanks to the design team and video production team. The new artwork pops and the video is fantastic.
As ever – huge thanks to Daisy for managing and supporting us along the way and making sure it all gets sorted and delivered on time. It’s ran like clockwork.’
