Tinside Lido: Launch Campaign

A re-opening launch campaign for this Plymouth landmark.

Tinside Lido

Built in 1935, Tinside Lido is an Art Deco style, Grade II listed Plymouth landmark. Part of the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park, this beautiful saltwater swimming pool is perfect for everyone and is fully accessible to people of all needs.

After an extensive refurbishment and development Bigwave was asked to create a digital launch campaign to count down until the Lido’s grand re-opening.

The video

The main element was a video shot by drone that was used to show the magnificent setting and location of an iconic city landmark.

Starting from high up on the Hoe, the camera flies past Smeaton’s Tower and then down over the edge and into the pool itself where a worker is adding a fresh coat of paint in preparation of the opening. The camera then soars upwards and out to sea.

Using a drone offers unique aerial perspectives and fluid camera movements that traditional filming simply can’t match.

The other assets

Alongside the video, we created a series of digital ads and social posts for the Lido to use to build excitement leading up to the re-opening.

Have been working with Bigwave for a year with Plymouth Active Leisure for Design, PPC and Brand Building.
