Innovatise app design

Improving customer experience with modern design

After having their website updated by Bigwave, Teme Leisure asked us to bring their aging membership app up to date and create a consistent customer experience.

The goal

After the Bigwave team launched Teme Leisure’s new website in 2024, it became clear that their aging membership app needed updating. The design was outdated, and the user experience was inconsistent with their new site.

Working with Teme Leisure we helped them define their customers’ priorities when using the app, as well as  recommending new opportunities for promoting their range of services directly to app users. Once the priorities were agreed we got to work building the new app.

Our Solution

The visual design of the app was based heavily on the website to provide a consistent experience to Teme Leisure’s customers. The range of services offered by Teme Leisure were spread across a number of focussed pages, each with a signature background colour. To aid customer navigation each page is subdivided into sections:

  • Actionable items – such as booking,
  • Information – such as FAQs or news services.
  • Ancilliary actions –  such as contact details and centre opening times. These were contained in a consistent menu box at the bottom of each page.

The Results

The app went live in March 2025. One of the benefits of the Innovatise platform is being able to build the full app in a test area. This meant the Teme Leisure team were able to experience and test the full range of app services on their own mobile devices before the public-facing version went live. This ensured they were 100% happy with the style and functionality of the app prior to launch.

The service we received from the Bigwave team was excellent. We have received great feedback from customers on the new design and ease of navigation, and have seen an increase in online membership joiners which has taken pressure from our Reception team.
