Bigwave Marketing becomes a Certified B Corporation

Bigwave Marketing, a leading UK-based agency specialising in leisure and culture sector marketing, has announced its certification as a B Corporation (or B Corp). The agency joins a growing movement of companies that pursue purpose and create benefit for all stakeholders, not just shareholders.

Verified by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement, the certification process is rigorous, requiring companies to demonstrate their positive impact on society and environment through comprehensive assessment.

The agency’s mission is to ‘Make a difference and deliver growth to clients, colleagues and communities’. This primary driver means Bigwave works with a diverse range of clients that all, in their own ways, make a difference, including charities, social enterprises, local authorities, and private sector businesses.

Bigwave joins 2,500 fellow B Corps in the UK and a growing set of 9,700 businesses worldwide, which includes household brands Ben & Jerry’s and Patagonia. The certification is another exciting development for the agency and follows a successful management buyout, led by Tom Gozna and Simon Beer in July 2024.

Bigwave Director, Simon Beer said, “We are thrilled to become a B Corp. Our culture is built around making a difference and B Corp encapsulated that ethos, giving us a framework and drive to look beyond profit. The process has encouraged us to look deeper at how and why we exist as a business, and it has helped to celebrate some of our achievements, including a reduction of 81% in our carbon footprint and the introduction of health plans to all our staff.”

With an in-house team of 47 professionals, affectionately known as ‘Bigwavers’, the agency offers structured career development, upskilling individuals through training across specialised marketing roles. The agency also champions the creative sector, working with local educators to provide opportunities and supporting wider sector growth.
